What Drives QWIC Electric Bikes
QWIC is a relatively new name in the UK but not in continental Europe, where their bikes are hugely popular. Here’s some background on the company. Dutch manufacturer QWIC Electric Bikes aims to raise the standards of electric bikes to the level where people see them as a serious alternative to the car. “We dream of towns without cars,” says co-founder Taco. Since the company launch in 2006, QWIC has focused on urban travel, and commuters in particular. In towns and cities half of car journeys are under 7km and more than 80% under 20km. The company realises it has to entice people out of their cars with great technology and...

The London borough is leading the way in the fight against air pollution by showing how e-bikes can be incorporated into commercial fleets. Clearly not quite for everyone just yet for these mean performance machines. Harley Davidson's new electric LiveWire starts at £29,000. The only electric bike that...
Sainsburys and London City Adopt Electric Cargo Bikes
Sainsbury's Supermarket trialled 5 electric cargo bikes to perform grocery deliveries, delivering up to 100 online orders a day. These trials exceeded expectations with 96.7% of orders able to be fulfilled in a single bike run / drop. By utilising the last-mile delivery vehicles, Sainsburys were not hit with congestion charges or emissions fees, and the vehicles enabled a more responsive delivery system allowing them to offer same-hour delivery slots. The City of London have also replaced their diesel vans with electric cargo bikes and trikes. The large load capacities combined with no emissions or noise pollution made them a huge...
